In June and July, Malhar 2026, St. Xavier’s College’s flagship cultural festival themed Iridescence, extended its impact beyond campus through two community initiatives. At Silver Beach, over 200 students joined Beach Warriors and Khushiyaan Foundation for a cleanup drive, collecting more than 20 bags of waste and making the shore nearly 70% cleaner within two hours, guided by experienced volunteers. Days later, Malhar partnered with Cancer Patient Aid Association and Bombay Running for a 5-kilometre charity run at Worli, drawing over 100 participants and raising awareness and funds for cancer care. The morning transitioned into sports activities, fostering unity and engagement. Together, these events reflected Malhar’s core belief that a cultural festival goes beyond performances, embodying responsibility, community spirit and meaningful action, with Iridescence celebrating diverse causes including environmental sustainability and social impact. These initiatives speak volumes about the Jesuit tradition of accompanying young people and forming them into responsible, compassionate, and socially conscious leaders. As Malhar 2026 enters its main days on 13th, 14th, and 15th August, we extend our heartfelt best wishes to all our students.
