All Christians recite by heart these words of the Creed: “I believe in one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit... With the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit is glorified.” But whereas prayer to, and active belief in, the Father and Son is widespread and real, the Holy Spirit is a mostly forgotten Person, and difficult to even imagine. Who would spontaneously pray to a “bird-god” or, as formerly translated, “holy Ghost?” Yet, it is “in the Holy Spirit,” or empowered by the Spirit, that Christianity has become, and still is, a living and vibrant religion and spirituality!
This new (28th) book of Fio Mascarenhas SJ (co-authored by Dr Renu Rita Silvano OCV) is a rich source of inspiring and biblical Catholic teaching about the Person and activity of God the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church and especially in today’s troubled and over-secular world. All 140 pages are in simple, non-technical language that will surely enlighten and thrill every Reader.
